Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 13, 2026
1. Introduction
HockeyVision ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the HockeyVision mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
- Account Information: We use Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google, for secure account management. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we collect and store your email address, display name, and a unique user identifier. This authentication data is stored on Firebase's servers, which are operated by Google as part of the Google Cloud Platform.
- Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect the information you provide in your correspondence.
b. Information Collected Automatically
- Head Motion Data: The App collects head-tracking motion data from your AirPods during training drills. This data is used in real time to detect head turns and provide audio feedback. Head motion data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Drill Performance Data: The App records drill metrics such as reaction time, success rate, check count, and drill duration. This data is stored locally on your device to provide you with performance analytics.
- Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and troubleshooting purposes.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage statistics such as feature usage frequency and session duration to improve the App.
c. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect precise location data (GPS).
- We do not access your microphone, camera, or contacts.
- We do not collect payment or financial information directly — all purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App's training features
- Process and deliver real-time audio feedback during drills
- Generate post-drill performance analytics and scorecards
- Improve and optimize the App's functionality and user experience
- Respond to customer support requests
- Send you updates or notices related to the App (with your consent)
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage and Security
Head motion data and drill performance data are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not transmit sensor data or personal training results to external servers unless you explicitly opt in to features that require cloud storage (such as account syncing).
Account authentication data (email address, display name, and user ID) is stored on Firebase's servers, which are operated by Google and protected by Google Cloud's security infrastructure. For more information, see Google Cloud Security.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we do collect. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with the following categories of service providers and third parties, solely to the extent necessary to operate and maintain the App:
- Firebase (Google Cloud Platform): We use Firebase Authentication for account creation and sign-in. Your authentication credentials (email address, display name, and unique user ID) are transmitted to and stored on Firebase's servers. Firebase's data handling practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Apple, your authentication is facilitated through Apple's Sign in with Apple service. Apple may provide us with your name, email address (or a private relay email address, if you choose to hide your email), and a unique user identifier. Apple's handling of this data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Analytics Providers: We may use third-party analytics services in the future to collect anonymized, aggregated usage data to help us improve the App. If and when such services are integrated, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
6. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication (Google): Used for secure account creation, sign-in, and session management. Authentication data is processed and stored on Google's servers in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase Terms of Service.
- Apple Sign in with Apple: Used as an authentication option. Data shared through this service is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services to understand how they handle your data.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete such information.
Users between the ages of 13 and 18 should use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of anonymized analytics collection through your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law. Specifically:
- Account Data: Your account information (including your email address, display name, and user ID stored via Firebase Authentication) is retained until you delete your account. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information from our systems and request deletion from Firebase's servers in accordance with their data retention policies.
- Local Drill Data: Drill performance data (reaction times, success rates, check counts, and session history) is stored locally on your device. This data is deleted when you delete the App or when you delete your account from within the App.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
